With the ever rapid advancement of video recording and editing equipment, most of it web-friendly, small businesses now can create and market video with relative ease.

However, most small businesses that are not already capitalizing on online video marketing cannot pass up this marketing avenue because they do not know what they are doing. You might ask why video marketing is important.

The good news is that video marketing is easy to learn how to and inexpensive to produce.

The bad news is that if you are not using video for marketing, you are missing out on an easy source of new traffic (customers).

Let me say that another way. You will pay less money to get your traffic from this video marketing than you would pay to get your traffic from traditional methods.

Online video marketing is basically a web-based form of television advertising where customers either see an advertisement or a video clip that showcases the products and services of a company.

In other words, videos are like TV advertisements on the Internet.

The online video is usually a combination of still photos, animations, music, and narration with a soundtrack of hot or unusual content. These videos are usually meant for viewing on one’s personal web browser, but could also be posted at video sharing sites like YouTube.

Video marketing is one of the fastest-growing and most profitable methods of advertising on the internet.

The main advantage of posting videos online over TV commercials is that the videos are free and viewers can see it for themselves before deciding if it is a product they want to buy or not. The downside is that the videos are public and anyone can watch them anytime they want, but that does not bother most viewers and they are likely to watch videos when they are looking for some news or updates.

What length should your video for marketing be?

The video length is really unlimited. You can make a short video about a product and put it on your website or you can also make a longer video and put it on YouTube or you can also post on social sites like Facebook or Metacafe and in short you can post anything but the point is that you will be able to get more views than your competition.

The reason I say this is that since people can watch videos online longer, they are more likely to give them to their friends and family to watch as well. The better you are at posting videos online, the happier your customers are and the more views you get.

Why Does YouTube Have Such a Strong Presence in Marketing?

YouTube has turned into a force in online marketing. You should know that by this point, I mean by the time you have finished reading this article.

So why is YouTube so popular and effective?

Simply put, people enjoy seeing videos on their computers.

Not that text is unappealing. People enjoy reading books, so let it be an option for you to use. What I mean is that if you have the means to create a video, do it. I know for some of you this might sound silly, but it would surprise you how many people still do not have a video creation program that they could show how to use the software. Now the point I am trying to make is that there is a market for video.

To use video effectively in your marketing, here are some things to think about.

1. Why is video effective and enjoyable?

Simply put, it makes it fun again. There is a reason the mobile phone industry is thriving today. They have brilliant pictures for advertisements, plus the content is very entertaining.

We could say the same for internet videos. Sure, the video production software you are using might have some limitations when it comes to video quality, but there is more than enough room for you to put up as much creativity and entertainment for your audience.

2. What topics might you cover?

If you think about it for a moment, you will understand it is possible to make compelling video marketing content.

For example, think of something you know well. Something that will make the viewer want to know more. Something that will keep them interested and wanting more. Once you have thought of something you want to include, then do so.

When you have finished creating the video, transfer it to your computer.

It is very important that you do this because you will need to edit it.

If you don’t, then when you upload it to YouTube, it will not be what it needs to be and surely will not attract the right audience.

There may be things that need to be removed, words that should be in other locations. Just go through it and be creative.
